Fall=Fun!

So our little man has finally figure out how to sit! We are so excited to see this new milestone that happened about a week ago. It is a complete answer to prayer!!
He can balance in this position for about 15-20 seconds or so before he topples over.  Hence the pillow behind him to catch his head before an injury occurs. We've definitely been keeping busy.  Poor Micah just endured his first cold, which then infected the whole family.  The house is all cured now, besides a little stuffy nose lingering with Micah.

YUM!

This was a yummy experience this morning.  While trying to figure out some more nutritious fruit options we choose raspberries this morning!  A little sour at first but it turned out he liked it! He ate about a quarter cup as well as a half of a banana and a teaspoon of rice cereal.  He definitely loves his foods.  I decided to go with raspberries because I read that they contain a lot of antioxidants.  So there you have it.

October

Hello October! Finally it seems like were moving into cooler weather months.  Although, AZ is still extremely hot. We're ready to go play outside and go for cool walks around our neighborhood.

Micah is now 7 months and we're anxious to see new milestones like sitting up and crawling.  I know all babies develop at different rates. But I'm anxious to hear when yours starting sitting and crawling.

Family and life are good!

7 months

Our little Micah is not so little anymore.  He will be 7 months this week.  Time has truly flown by!We cannot believe that our baby born at a mere 5lbs is now 22lbs!  We are enjoying time with Micah everyday.  He has had a very busy life so far.  Lots of trips and travels.  We have been to Chicago to see family and friends 4 times already and are preparing for our 5th trip for a friends baby shower! I hope that all these flights are going to make you in quite the little traveler.  Its always nerve racking before a flight and when you start to hear a fuss.  People are not very friendly when a baby is crying.  Luckily I've discovered something called Chamomile Calm.  It's completely natural and just relaxes the nervous system and makes for a calm and sleepy Micah.

I look forward to the upcoming months as Micah starts to learn to crawl and becomes more mobile.  I can already see two teeth.  (the bottom ones) One is about 1/4 way up.  I'm so excited to see them all the way up!  We are really looking forward to cooler weather so we can go walking without the sun beating on our heads.  Arizona summers seem to last forever. :)

Solid Foods!

Its been an exciting week for us here at home.  We were able to start trying some rice cereal this past friday.  Micah did enjoy in and ate the whole bowl the first time.  Then for some odd reason he started rejecting it after only 5 bites or so.  So we switched to oatmeal and he likes it a whole lot better.  Although I think its still going to be a slow process for him to get used to it.  We also tried green beans last night which I made from scratch.  Poor baby, doesn't like his vegetables!  I'm gonna try 1 more day with them and then do yams/sweet potatoes tomorrow night and see if he likes the sweetness of those better. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We also moved the little guy to his own room.  He has adjusted beautifully!  I'm just waiting for him to sleep a little longer.  Can't believe he'll be 5 months this Friday!  My boy is growing up so fast.  Were excited to visit some friends finally up in PHX this weekend.  Loving being a mommy. :)

Our little one is 1 week old today!

Micah Alexander was born last Tuesday, February 23rd.  We ended up having a last minute c-section because of him being breech and the doctor being concerned of the low amniotic fluid.  Despite the scaring entrance into our world, Micah surprised the doctors and amazed us with his utter beauty.  He was born weighing in at 5 pounds 15.8 ounces at 36 weeks.  He ballard (tested) at 35 weeks old.

We are loving every minute we have with our beautiful son.  He is the joy of our lives.  As we adjust to being new parents we are reminded of the sleep we once had.  However,  holding our little one erases those memories quickly and makes up for the lack of sleep.

We are also so thankful to be having my mom in town to help with the little one.  She was able to take over a 2 night feedings in her stay with us as well as being a help in many other ways.  Soon Matt will be at work and I will be at home with our little one and trying out the night time feedings all alone.  I am a little apprehensive of this,  but I know that the Lord will give me all the strength that I need.

To God be all the glory, honor and praise for our precious newborn son Micah Alexander!

A little complications...

Here we are at 35 weeks and 3 days right now.  We had a busy past 2 weeks.  After a positive ffn test, I was admitted into the hospital a few days later for some pre-term labor contractions.  They put me on magnesium which is meant to slow contractions and hopefully stop them.   After about a day and a half on that my contractions that were about 4-6 minutes apart went away.  My doctor continues to monitor me twice a week to measure fluid and make sure that the baby is doing great.  We were told this week  that we had some low amniotic fluid and that if it didn't increase she would have to induce.  Thankfully after drinking over a gallon of water a day, my fluids are up and we are now safe from being induced.

I am so thankful for my friends and family that have prayed for us during this time.  It really was amazing to see God answer prayers today at the doctor.  My doctor was amazed that my fluid was up so much and truly thought she would have to induce me today.  We are still praying for our little one to turn because he is still breech.  I'm on bed-rest now and practice inversions to coax him into flipping.

I can't believe how soon its coming.  Matt and I are so anxious to hold our little one!

Moved in to our new house and 32 weeks pregnant!

So we've finally moved into our new house.  We absolutely love it.  It really is the perfect size and location for us.  We still have some unpacking to do and some pictures to hang.  Other than that we're almost all done.  This of course is not counting Micah's nursery that is pretty much untouched.  I did manage to sort through some shower gifts and organize clothes and toys.  One day I am planning on washing all his clothes with some baby detergent.  That's going to be a big task...so I'm putting it off for a while.

The pregnancy is going great so far.  It's hard to believe that I'll be full term in 4 weeks time.  They say anytime between 36-40 weeks is full term and plausible for delivery.  This move is tiring me out as well as being in my third trimester.  The day is coming so soon.  We are filled with so many emotions.  We are excited, nervous, joyous, scared and so much more.  We're trusting in God that He will help us to be the best parents we can be and to guide us through.
